Faculty Positions in the College of Science
Postdoctoral Research Associate Position
An Edison post–doctoral position is available for work with Laser Transmission Spectroscopy on biologically related systems. The work involves measurements of nanoparticles (1–3000nm in diameter) in suspension. Nanoparticle systems under study include magnetic oxides, proteins, viruses and virus-like particles, bacteria, etc. Program offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including DNA detection, viral studies, the physics of nanoparticles, liposome studies, etc. Basic laboratory and computer skills are required.
Programming skills and a familiarity with laser and optical systems are desirable. A Ph.D. in physics is not required. Contact Steven Ruggiero (ruggier.1@nd.edu) Carol Tanner (ctanner@nd.edu) in the Department of Physics for more information.
