Solar Panels

Are you looking for activities around campus on football Saturdays? Stop by the Science Exploration Series in the Jordan Hall of Science! This event is free and open to the public.

Prior to the BYU game, Mark Wistey, assistant professor of electrical engineering, will give a presentation called, "Solar Power at Long Last."

Is solar power a democratic equalizer, or a costly boondoggle? This talk covers the technical challenges, recent discoveries, and imminent future of solar cells. We will describe research at Notre Dame toward making solar power efficient, reliable, and cheap. We will see how world records are set and broken, and why solar power and political power are linked in surprising ways. Finally, we'll bust a few myths and slaughter some sacred pork.
