The Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley Hesburgh Lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, at 7:00 p.m.in Room 101 of the Jordan Hall of Science. This year’s guest speaker will be Prof. Peter Garnavich. His presentation is entitled “The Expanding Universe and Large Telescopes.” Prof. Garnavich was a member of the research team that won the Nobel Prize in Physics for their discovery of the accelerating expansion of the universe. A reception will follow Prof. Garnavich’s presentation. Weather permitting, there will be an opportunity to go to the Observatory on Jordan Hall and look through the telescopes.
