Fair Use in the Academic Environment: A Scholar’s Primer

Location: Geddes Auditorium

Speaker: Tim Flanagan, Associate General Counsel

Fair Use Week, sponsored by the Association for Research Libraries (ARL), is February 22-26 and the Hesburgh Libraries will celebrate by hosting a lecture for faculty, graduate students, and advanced undergraduate scholars.

Chances are you have quoted a book, scanned an article, requested something through interlibrary loan or document delivery, or used an image in a conference presentation. These are just a few examples of Fair Use as part of copyright law that we use and benefit from every day.

Join the Hesburgh Libraries and Associate General Counsel Tim Flanagan to learn more about Fair Use and why it is a fundamental building block of scholarship and a powerful and critical right.
