In this current age of technology, STEM education is becoming increasingly vital to the future of technological innovation. There are some communities who are further along in STEM education than others. The elements of success have been studied, and articulated in theories of long-term social change, such as Collective Impact. The National Science Foundation increasingly requires that the best of those theories underly proposals to fund deep infrastructure change in STEM education.
This year's Forum will introduce Collective Impact thinking, Pathways approaches to integrating STEM education with regional economic needs through workforce development, and specific regional pathways initiatives. Many STEM educators in Michiana have already experienced transformation in their practice through integration of K-12 and university research communities. Come be part of a similar vitalization of industry and K-12 education at Forum X.
