Fr. Streit with students

Pre-med juniors Megan Rybarczyk, Greg Podolej, and Brennan Bollman will join Father Thomas Streit C.S.C. on Jan. 3 in Haiti to help with research projects that are aimed to rid the impoverished Caribbean country of LF, or lymphatic filariasis, as part of the overall goal for the Notre Dame Haiti Program.

The students will be part of a 20-person contingent that will include eight members of the extended family of James (ND '64) and Colleen Ryan from Minnesota and a team of four physicians from Maine, lead by Dr. Kevin Olehnik, a 1978 Notre Dame graduate. The doctors will perform surgeries on Haitians who are afflicted with LF.
