Inspired by last summer's Desert to Dome bike ride by Greg and Renate Crawford, the Notre Dame Cycling Team will host the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Race on March 26-27, 2011 to raise money for the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation to fight Niemann Pick Type C disease.

On Saturday, March 26 the competition will feature a team time trial and a road race on a course in South Bend, Ind. beginning at the Green Intermediate Center on Roosevelt Road. On Sunday, March 27 the competition will feature a criterium in downtown South Bend starting and finishing at the football Hall of Fame. Teams from the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Ohio State, Purdue University, Marian College and other colleges will compete.

The Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Niemann-Pick Type C disease, a genetic neurodegenerative disease that causes the deterioration of the nervous system in children. Notre Dame riders can be sponsored through the Parseghian Foundation website.

Checks can be made out to the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation, noting that the donation is in honor of the ND Cycling Team, and sent to 215 Morrissey Hall Notre Dame IN 46556.
