Kenneth Hersch, Co-Founder and CEO of NGP Energy Capital Management and founder of the Global Adaptation Index will be speaking in the Atrium of the Mendoza College of Business on Thursday, December 12 at 6:30 PM.

The Global Adaptation Index — the world’s leading Index showing which countries are best prepared to deal with the droughts, super-storms and other natural disasters that climate change can cause — moved to Notre Dame in the Spring 2013 and is now called ND-GAIN.

“The era of climate change denial is over, the world is getting warmer, and numerous countries are not ready for the chaos that climate change will bring,” Hersh said. “GAIN highlights those countries that urgently need help adapting to a warmer world. We are thrilled about our new partnership with Notre Dame and its ability to help us take GAIN to the next level.”

Hersch’s company NGP Energy Capital Management is a $13 billion investment fund based outside Dallas. Hersch is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the World Economic Forum as well as the advisory board of ND-GAIN.

His address will follow the annual display of student projects from the Foresight in Business course required of all juniors in the Mendoza College of Business. Over 65 projects will address a wide range of topics that impact the future of business and society.
