Alex Diaz-Lopez, a recent Notre Dame math PhD, is the first graduate student member of the Notices of the American Mathematics Society Editorial Board. In this capacity he has conducted a series of interviews of prominent mathematicians. The October 2016 issue of the Notices, for example, features his conversation with Field’s Medalist Sir Timothy Gowers. Diaz-Lopez is currently an assistant professor at Swarthmore College.
