Hannah is an Anthropology major and Sustainability minor. Her capstone project is focused on a combination of aquatic research and sociological study of community attitudes to lake conservation at Lake Papakeechie in Kosciusko County, Indiana.

"I have always been interested in how human action affects the environment. For this reason, I loved interviewing lake residents in conjunction with water quality testing on Lake Papakeechie."

Hannah received a DaVinci Grant for Summer 2013, which she spent collecting baseline data on physical lake factors such as dissolved oxygen, E. coli, temperature, depth, and turbidity as well as polling residents around Lake Papakeechie and nearby Lake Wawasee. During her senior year, she plans to expand on her study of the lake residents' perceptions of lake health and community stewardship.

During winter break of her junior year, Hannah interned at Environment Illinois, an environmental advocacy group in Chicago.
