The College of Science offers its students a rich and diverse undergraduate experience. All classes are taught by teaching and research faculty, and students are exposed to unique research opportunities. Students are also encouraged to join academic clubs, and many opportunities exists in the South Bend community for volunteer services.

Alumni/Student Appalachia Project -A.S.A.P. exposes students and alumni to the cultural and social predicaments of the Appalachian region through service and experiential learning. Conducted during Fall/Spring breaks every year.
Center for the Homeless -An innovative service model offering homeless families and individuals an on-site structured, step-by-step process to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.
Logan Center - LOGAN is committed to supporting people with disabilities in achieving their desired quality of life.
Make a Difference Michiana- a website dedicated to local non-profit organizations with contact information for, Robinson Community Learning Center, La Casa de Amistad youth Center, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Chiara Home, Camp Millhouse, SOS of Madison Center, and many other local organizations where students can volunteer.
