PIPs in Deadly Infection - Saturday Science Exploration Series

Location: Jordan Hall, Room 101

Microbial infections take an enormous toll on human health. Disease ensues when a microbe successfully attacks cells, which are the building blocks of the human host. This presentation will focus on a new, global infection mechanism that enables deadly microbes to colonize cells of their human hosts. This mechanism is also active in plants and thus effective treatments could improve human health and protect the food supply.
