Medicines for Malaria Venture

Jeremy Burrows, Ph.D. leads the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) Discovery team and supports groups across the portfolio with medicinal chemistry input. Burrows, a medicinal chemist, joins MMV's Drug Discovery team from AstraZeneca, where he was an associate director in both lead generation and lead optimization chemistry. He had broad experience in drug discovery, from early target identification to lead optimization, and had led teams of chemists in the optimization of small molecules as future drugs for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, diabetes and the treatment of pain.

Burrows as worked in the UK and Sweden. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Oxford University and has published a significant number of scientific papers and patent applications.
