Keynote Address by Christoph Reinhard, Senior Director, Translational Sciences Oncology, Eli Lilly and Company
Dr. Reinhard has been focused for the last 20 years on oncology drug development in research settings of universities, biotech and pharmaceutical companies. He received his MS in human genetics at the University of Freiburg and subsequently completed his PhD thesis in biochemistry at the Biocenter, Basel, Switzerland. Early research interests focused on signal transduction of apoptosis and TNF signaling as well as translational control mechanisms through the PI3K/Tor pathway. Technology development for target ID and validation for small and large molecules resulted in key patents on new therapeutic targets and novel antisense chemistry. His interests in the first generation genomics approaches developed into a strategic frame work for biomarker and tailored therapeutic implementation including the development of outsourcing networks and pre-competitive consortia in order to streamline disease characterization efforts. Currently, he is heading the Translational Science Oncology effort at Eli Lilly and Company.
