Compassionate Care in Healthcare: The Patient’s Perspective

Location: 140 DeBartolo Hall

Ruth M

Peter Westerhaus was a D1 college football athlete stricken by a disease that changed the course of his life forever. He suffered and recovered from a hard battle with ulcerative colitis and was awarded the Courage Award from the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 2014. With an incredible inside look at the medical field as a patient of Mayo Clinic and many health professionals, he now believes understanding compassion from the eyes of the patient is critically important to healing. He will be sharing his experiences and insights with the Notre Dame community Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m, in room 140 DeBartolo Hall.
