If you are planning on applying to a health profession school this coming summer of 2022, let Ms. Carry Teshka know (teshka.3@nd.edu) that you plan to attend one of the upcoming organizing meetings (send your name, ID#, major, and intended profession to teshka.3@nd.edu). Even if you are abroad right now, send her that information. She can begin to create your application file and prepare the application listserv.

Students preparing for the Medical School application process will also want to take the "Preparing for the Health Professions" course next semester (unless you have already taken it). Those preparing for allied health professions, including dentistry, don't need to take the course, but may find particular topics (personal statement, interview prep, etc.) helpful and are encouraged to attend when those topics are covered.

Preparing for the Health Professions

Thursdays - 5:30P - 6:30P

If you are planning on taking the MCAT in April, May or June, in addition to taking Biochemistry, which is a necessary prereq for the MCAT, the science classes we feel are helpful for the exam are: Cell Biology, Statistics, Physiology and maybe Genetics. The social science courses include introductory psychology, sociology or anthropology. If you don't have room to take them all, the Kahn Academy web site has instructional videos focused on these and other subjects.  The Kahn Academy has collaborated with MCAT to produce very structured MCAT content.  They also have video materials for all of the behavioral science topics. That Khan Academy site is located at: https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/mcat

Other information on the new MCAT is located at:
