We’re thrilled to announce Friday, October 9, as the date for the 2026 Brumm Patient Advocacy Summit at the University of Notre Dame, hosted by the Patient Advocacy Initiative.

This year’s summit will focus on the rare disease family journey—exploring the experiences, challenges, and support systems that shape life with rare disease, from diagnosis and navigating care to finding community and advocating for what comes next.

We’re honored to welcome Cara Coleman ’95, a Notre Dame alumna, former student-athlete, and passionate advocate for children and families, as our keynote speaker. Drawing from her own family’s journey with her daughter, Justice Hope, Cara has dedicated her career to advancing family-centered care and strengthening partnerships between families and healthcare professionals. Her work offers a powerful perspective on the crucial role families play in shaping the care, research, education, and systems that impact their lives.
