With a Side of Knowledge is a podcast produced by the Office of the Provost at the University of Notre Dame. It brings listeners informal interviews with fascinating scholars and professionals from both Notre Dame and elsewhere that take place over brunch.

The 10th episode of season two, “On Science Podcasting and What Didn’t Happen to the Dinosaurs,” was released Thursday, March 7, and features Elah Feder and Annie Minoff, co-hosts and producers of Undiscovered, the podcast from WNYC’s iconic radio show Science Friday. The episode was recorded in Brooklyn, New York, when Feder, Minoff, and With a Side of Knowledge host Ted Fox were attending On Air Fest 2019.

Together, Feder and Minoff bring a mix of experience in journalism, podcasting, and scientific research that makes the topics they’re discussing as accessible and enjoyable as they are interesting. Through the hums and hisses of a Brooklyn coffee shop, they talked with Fox about how they look for stories that haven’t been told, the importance of good communication between the scientific community and the rest of us, and the paleontologist at the center of one of their most memorable episodes.
