Notre Dame Research has opened its internal grants competition for the Kobayashi Travel Fund (KTF) and invites faculty to apply. The deadline to submit applications for the fund is Friday, September 15, 2017 by 5:00 p.m. EST

The KTF provides funding to initiate new research by subsidizing travel expenses incurred in the acquisition, analysis and development of data, and/or the consulting of primary materials, collections, or other research resources at off-campus sites. Grants up to $1,500 USD are available through this program. Full-time, regular members of the Notre Dame faculty, including tenured and tenure-track, research, library, and special professional faculty are eligible to apply.

“Last year, our KTF award recipients used their funding for travel to a variety of locations, such as China, Greece, and across the United States,” said Hildegund Müller, associate vice president for research and associate professor of classics. “Our goal is that by offering this opportunity, faculty will have the opportunity to utilize a different setting to explore, accelerate, and advance their research program.”

The fund is the first of seven internal grant programs from Notre Dame Research to begin accepting applications, with the rest opening throughout the coming months.
