Rob Stahelin joins Harper Cancer Research Institute administration

Robert Stahelin has been appointed interim senior associate director of the Harper Cancer Research Institute (HCRI), representing the interests of Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and the IUSM-South Bend campus. HCRI is a partnership between IUSM-SB and the University of Notre Dame.

Stahelin is an adjunct associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry at Notre Dame, an IUSM Showalter Fellow, and associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at ISUM.

As interim senior associate director, Stahelin will liaise with the Harper administrative team and Notre Dame’s Office of the Vice President of Research on behalf of the medical school. He will assist with Harper’s programmatic and grant activities and help manage such joint programs as the Walther Cancer Institutes’ Engineering Novel Solutions to Cancer’s Challenges and the Inter-Disciplinary Interface. He also will explore strategies to integrate IUSM-SB medical students in Harper activities, including summer research internship opportunities.

Stahelin’s appointment was approved by the HCRI Governing Board.
