Kelly R. Carmichael is the Vice President of Environmental for NiSource Inc. His 20 years of professional experience includes various technical and management positions in the environmental field primarily for the utility and steel industries. In 2001, he joined NiSource and has held several positions, focusing on sustainability and environmental conservation, permitting, regulatory analysis and environmental improvement plan development. In his current position, he oversees the environmental policy, permitting, compliance and sustainability functions for NiSource. Under Kelly’s leadership, NiSource established its first comprehensive sustainability program, now nationally recognized as a leading approach to sustainability. NiSource is one of only four utilities nationwide in its sector to be named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
Kelly received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Illinois State University, as well as, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Kelley Davies advises Major Account customers on their energy needs as an Account Manager for NIPSCO. Carrying 10 years of experience with the company, she started as a Project Engineer working to provide both electric and gas services to customers and soon specialized in connecting customers to the electrical grid using renewable resources. Her knowledge and interest in sustainability propelled with her as she transitioned into her role into NIPSCO Major Accounts. Within that role, she is an Energy Advisor to the largest commercial and industrial customers; synchronizing their energy usage profile to the best tariff rate, coordinating large expansion projects, and ensuring capitalization on offered energy incentives. Currently, she is a member of the City of South Bend Green Ribbon Commission as a representative for NIPSCO, providing demand-side management perspectives for the group. She volunteers time as a Community Advisor for St. Joseph County Shirley Heinze Land Trust.
Kelley holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Trine University in Angola, IN as well as an MBA from Indiana University South Bend. She plans on pursuing certification to become an AEE Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) in Spring of 2019.
