Notre Dame Goes Greener: An Energy Infrastructure Update

Kempf Paul Power Plant

Paul Kempf is the Senior Director of Utilities and Maintenance at the University of Notre Dame. He is a 1980 graduate of Notre Dame’s College of Engineering and has worked for Notre Dame Utilities for 30 years.

Mr. Kempf is responsible for heating and air conditioning, electricity, and water supply on campus as well as energy conservation and maintenance of campus utility systems. In the last 10 years, he has overseen the investment of over $10 million in energy conservation on campus.

Mr. Kempf is a key participant in the University’s Comprehensive Sustainability Strategy. He serves on the sustainability strategy standing committee and several working groups.
