The title of her talk is "Environmental Sustainability in Sport: Past, Present, Future."

Abstract: This presentation will cover the background of sustainability in the sport industry. Additionally, a brief overview will be provided about the past, present and future sustainability efforts in a variety of sport settings, such as outdoor recreational activities, collegiate sports, professional sports, and the Olympics. The main focus will be on the Olympic Games as they are the ultimate mega-event in sport and attract a large number of individuals for a short period of time, therefore negatively impacting the local environment.

Bio: Dr. Trendafilova received her doctoral degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a founding member of the Sport Ecology Group. Her research incorporates social science and environmental science, focusing on the relationship between sport and the natural environment.
