Dean's Award Luncheon

The dean of the College of Science hosts an annual Dean's Award Luncheon at the end of each academic year to celebrate the achievements of the college's top graduating seniors.

Dean's Award

The Dean's Award was established in 1980 and is presented to a graduating senior in recognition of exemplary personal character, leadership, service, and outstanding scholarship.

Dean's Research Awards

In 2012, the inaugural Dean's Research Award was presented. This award is presented in recognition of exceptional research within and across the traditional boundaries of scholarly disciplines to a graduating senior who embraces, facilitates, and fosters an environment of scientific inquiry.

Department Awards

At the awards banquet, each of the College of Science departments recognize students for their outstanding scientific achievements throughout their college careers.

College of Science Research Award

Established in 2018, this award is given annually to recognize a faculty member who has demonstrated sustained excellence in research.

Shilts/Leonard Award

Annually, the College of Science presents the Rev. James. L Shilts, C.S.C./ Doris and Eugene Leonard Teaching Award for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. This award was named in honor of Rev. James Shilts, C.S.C., who taught in the Department of Physics from 1961 until 1982.
