Introducing the RARE Project Network

The Rare Advocacy & Research Experience (RARE) Project Network is a new, student-led initiative that connects Notre Dame students with real-world projects supporting rare disease patients, families, and advocacy organizations.

Drawing inspiration from Notre Dame’s SIBC, this program empowers students to lead and contribute to semester-long projects that create tangible impact beyond the classroom specifically in the rare disease patient advocacy space.

Join us at the inaugural kickoff meeting to learn more about spring 2026 projects and how you can contribute: Tuesday, January 27 at 6:00pm in 105 Jordan Hall.

Who can participate?

  • Open to students from all majors and class years.
  • Ideal for students interested in health, science, policy, nonprofit work, advocacy and service.
  • No prior experience is required, just curiosity and commitment.

What Does Participation Look Like?

  • Semester-long commitment.
  • Regular team meetings (weekly or biweekly).
  • Specific deliverables and milestones.
  • Opportunities for leadership, recognition, and a semester-end presentation.
